Rotting lettuce,
Carrot ends,
Slimy greens
That twist and bend.
Onion peels,
Cracked eggshells,
Wet paper towels
That really smell.
Soggy cardboard,
Peeled orange rinds,
Banana skins,
Oh, I don't mind.
This stuff may sound
Really gross,
But it's just Mom's garden
Compost.
