Jonathan James is three and a half He puts on his own shoes. He puts them on wrong, don't laugh- He's just beyond his two's. He puts the right shoe on his left foot And the left shoe on his right His toes point out instead of in It is a funny sight. It must be uncomfortable walking Around both day and night- With the right shoe on the left foot And the left shoe on the right. "You've got your shoes on wrong," they'd say But he'd laugh and say, "Not quite." Then he'd take off his shoes And there you'd see- "Twas not his shoes but his feet that weren't on right! Carolyn Argyle is the mother of five children and teaches preschool at her home. She has published one nonfiction book and several magazine articles.
