Long-Distance Togetherness
Telling Your Story How often have you said, "I wish I had learned more about my grandparents"? To help your children and grandchildren avoid this frequent complaint, use these guidesheets for telephone conversations or for letters. In addition to the usual conversations, add a tidbit about yourself, share some events that are special to you. During a holiday conversation, for example, recall your favorite Christmas or Hanukkah. Some cultures encourage Grandma and Grandpa to tell stories. It is a way to build family memories. These stories become a legacy from Grandma and Grandpa. More than that, with one of these reminder sheets in front of you when you're on the telephone, you can have a meaningful conversation with your grandchildren during those weekly calls. Keep these sheets as a written legacy.
